Feedback requested

As part of our online profile for adoption there is a section of questions
like:

If your house were burning down, what three
things would you grab?

Favorite meal?

Favorite music, quote, color, etc.

There are spaces for five questions of our own contriving. If you were wanting to
know fun random things about a couple you might place your baby with, what would you want to
know? What questions would give insight to personality?

Any suggestions, by ANYONE - whether I know you or not - would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks a bunch!!

  3. O.k.
how about "if you were on a stranded
island what 3 things would you want with you"? What is a" good day
like for you"? And what is a "bad day like for you"? Do
you have family memebers close by you? Who do you spend the most time with besides your
spouse? What is your favorite season? How do you celebrate Christmas &
    holidays?

Just a few I came up with:-)

  4. How about an essay on why you know punitive parenting is the only effective
way? Or maybe the virtues of corporal punishment. If you want to go the mamby pamby route, you
could share your three greatest interests/strengths of your personality. Or the core values
and lessons you want your kids to have as a core pillar of their character. Really give it a
touch of personalization. Assure them that the child will not be without yearly civil war
reinactments and a victorian grammar school upbringing, latin, tea sipping, flowery poetry,
etc. How about, which Disney princes is Daniel's favorite? I'd be interested to hear that one.

  5. the first question is too hard... because essential things sometimes are remembered by the material equivalence

  6. This must be new since they are launching the new web site. We didn't have to do this, so unless you list this info in another section I would make sure they know...
    What you do for fun
What are some fun family traditions you have estabolished
Where you have been in your travels/where you enjoy vacationing
Some young birthmothers might appreciate the music you listen to
How willing you are to have an open adotion or your thoughts on an open adoption
It's a Friday night, what are you and your husband doing??
If I can think of some more, I will let you know! Good luck with the rest of your approval process!
Oh, and I saw your post about getting a nursery ready and my advice is this...
Waiting for an adoption can get a little emotional. You never know when you are going to get chosen and it tends to overpower your thoughts. If getting a nursery ready will help you cope with the waiting time, then go for it! If it will just make you sad when you see an empty nursery, then hold off. If you do decide to go for it I would at least buy a crib, dresser, changing table, and rocker. I would wait to buy bedding and decorate until you know if you are getting a boy or a girl. That will also add to the fun of it before the baby is born, because you are finalizing the nursery with the exact baby in mind. I think it becomes more fun. If you also want to stock up on diapers, that's good too but you have to be careful because sometimes you can buy too many of the wrong size! I would also look for sales and buy your car seat. That is the 1st thing we bought for Haylee because without it, you can't bring the baby home from placement!! Anyway, I hope this isn't TMI!! Just have fun with it :) Easier said than done...
