We spent the night in Yanshuo and got going to Guilin about 9 the next morning. We still had two more things to see.
One of the coolest things about Guilin is that the mountains are everywhere, not just on the river.
So this is what we saw driving around.
We stopped at these rice fields on our drive from Yanshuo back to Guilin.
It was so green and lush. And humid.
Our first stop was the Reed Flute Cave and then Elephant Trunk Rock, a famous rock formation.
The cave was amazing. They had it lit very colorfully and in ways the caught the light very well.
Those are the 1,000 year old writings done by monks who were hiding in the cave.
It was pretty cool. And I'm kind of claustrophobic. It was a very open cave. Very cool to walk through.
Next headed to the Elephant Rock formation. It was cool.
Do you see the other one in the background? I liked the shape of that one better.
Everything in the park was cute elephant themed stuff. This was a sign. I loved this little statue.
The character for elephant in the ancient script.
Traditional script.
Modern script. The word for elephant in Da Xiang - literally means big foot. It's fun to say. Da Xiang.
Then we headed to the airport and made our way to Chengdu. Home of the Pandas. Daniel did the pictures for that one. It was awesome.
