Beijing Part 1 - The Wall

We headed to Beijing Sunday afternoon and got to the hotel in time for a late dinner. We were up early the next morning and off to see the MuTianyu section of the Great Wall of China.

Amazing. Wow.  It has 23 watch stations. We rode the tram up to #14 and walked down 1,000 steps to #6, then rode the alpine slide down again.

Apparently we rode in the tram that the seventeenth living Buddha of Tibet rode in. Cool.
Our section.
Coming down some of the stairs.
You can see part of what we walked. The gray was part humidity and part smog. Yes, smog, that far out of town.
The steepest section. As we saw people panting up the stairs I was very glad that we walked down them instead.
 With two of Daniel's sisters.
There are guys like this all over the place there who want to charge you to take their pictures. They went and retrieved the cutlass spear thing for Daniel. We were grunting with them.

It was amazing. Our next stop was the Ming Tomb.
